The trial of Thomas Boulter and James Caldwell, the two noted flying highwaymen; who have for some time past committed numerous highway robberies in all parts of this kingdom. Convicted at the castle of Winchester, on Friday the 31st of July, 1778. Before the Hon. Sir Francis Buller, Knt. of robbing William Emerly on the King's highway, near Horn-Dean, Hants, and of stopping and robbing the passengers in the Bath diligence, between Romsey and Southampton, in the same County. Fun upon fun or The stark naked country wedding. Being a full and true account of a bold robery [sic] committed by six highwaymen on Coxes-Heath, shewing how one Mr. Wilkinson. a wealthy grazier and farmers daughter were going to Boughron church to be married on the 20th. of September last, early in the morning, and met by six highway-men, arm'd with swords and pistols, who rob'd the bridegroom and 24 bride men and maids stark naked, with the comical and diverting dialogue that pass'd between the naked bride-men and maids, and the manner of their naked wedding. To which will be added a pastoral song call'd Robin and Nanny.

Shewing, how a gentleman living in the city of Chester, had two children, a son and a daughter, who was about two years younger than the son; how the girl gave good advice to her brother, how he rejected it, and knock'd her down, left her for dead, and then went away; how an angel appeared to him, and how he discovered the murder, was taken up, tried, cast, and condemned to die. Part II. Shewing, how he was executed with two highwaymen, being cut down, put in his coffin, carried home to his father's house, and preparing for his funeral, how he came to life again, how he sent for a minister and discovered to him several strange things, which after he had related, was executed a second time, for a warning to all disobedient children. Interspersed with useful reflections and admontions, salutary hints and observations, whereby rogues and cheats are not only exposed, but may be avoided; the whole laid down in a plain, and easy manner, to enable innocent country people to be completely on their guard, and avoid the base villanies of those vile and abandoned wretches, who live by robbery and deceiving the young and credulous of both sexes. The secret history of Betty Ireland. Who was trepanned into marriage at the age of fourteen, and debauched by Beau M-te, at fifteen, by whom she had one son; the vile injury she did to that gentleman, and her turning prostitute; he ramour with Lord M-d, when she came to London; and her ingratitude to that noble gentleman. Her incest with her own son, by whom she conceived and brought forth a daughter, on whom she settled a handsome annuity; her taking a house and selling punch, &c. her being carted for a bawd; her revenge on one of the Justices who was principally concerned in causing her to undergo that shame; her amours with a Jew, whom she caused to be arrested for 300l. and with three merchants, (who were brothers) to each of whom she was married in seven days, without the knowledge of either; and afterwards separated upon articles of agreement. Her behaviour in Yorkshire, particularly in relation to the aforesaid Justice of Peace; her liberality in that county: her being robbed on Epping-Forest, having first shot one of the highwaymen, and being afterwards shot in the shoulder by another; her taking a house and intriguing with Smutty Will, an Irishman, who lived by sharping; his tricks with several tradesmen; his confinement and death in Newgate. Her associating with shop-lifters; her being taken in the fact; and the stratagem she used to escape a prosecution; her inveigling a young man to sell his patrimony before he came of age; her turning a strolling player, with the manner how she made herself mistress of the company; her enticing her daughter to leave her father; their arrival at Cork, in Ireland, after they had escaped a violent storm; their success there for many years; with an account of her sudden death.
